Meet Our Walkers

Anastasia
Anastasia

Anastasia started Walka Walka Pet Services in March of 2007 with one dog to care for. Today, Walka Walka is a flourishing small business that services Toronto Central from Queen’s Quay, St. Lawrence Market to the Leaside area, Toronto West, including High Park and The Junction and Toronto East including East York and the Beach area.

Focusing on group walks, Anastasia believes a socialized and exercised dog makes for a well behaved and happy family pet. Positive reinforcement, consistent and fair behavior expectations, and a ton of FUN furry play time, are standards Anastasia strives for within each group walk.

When not walking dogs, Anastasia can be found teaching a wide variety of fitness and yoga classes. Anastasia is also an active Big Sister with the Big Brothers and Sisters of Toronto.

John
John

With over 25 years of dog experience Walka Walka Pet Services feels lucky to have John in our pack. John’s experiences include raising puppies into happy and socialized family pets. Participating in the fostering and adoption process of many lucky dogs has given John thorough knowledge of pet safety and pet first aid.
John’s strengths lie in having the ability to read dogs behavior which gives him the knowledge and compassion to keep dogs safe and carefree. John excels at working with dogs that have trouble socializing and feel anxiety.
All dogs that are lucky enough to spend time with John will enjoy themselves, they will benefit from a regular exercise routine and learn to socialize.

Chris
Chris

Growing up in a venerable Noah’s Ark thanks to pet-loving-adopting-parentals, Chris has always surrounded himself with animals. “When Walka Walka needed to hire help I applied for the job”, says Chris.  Luckily for him, Anastasia hired him as Special Ops, as in Special Operations.  Along with group walks, Chris walks dogs in need of private walks (senior dogs, puppies, injured, socially inept) and enjoys helping animals rehabilitate socially and physically. Both the dogs, and Chris, benefit from the time out and about the Beaches area.

When not with dogs, you can find Chris behind a drum kit backing some great and notable talent spanning three decades of musical friendships.

Jackie
Jackie

A lifelong animal lover, Jackie jumped at the chance to care for family pets and work with Walka Walka Pet Services. Jackie instantly excelled as a dog walker, and was awarded Rookie Dog Walker of the Year in 2014. In a short amount of time, Jackie could see that regular exercise and consistent guidance made a difference in her dogs behavior and happiness. Jackie provides both private and group walks and services Toronto Central, including Queen’s Quay, St. Lawrence Market and north to the Leaside area.

Jackie and her wife Laura, recently competed on The Amazing Race Canada. When the dogs are all resting, Jackie can be found singing on stage with Rock Star Live or with a guitar in her hands songwriting with Skinner.
